Measles During Pregnancy

Measles is one the most dangerous complications that can arise during pregnancy. Because of the serious impact it could have on your baby’s life, it is important to do the following before becoming pregnant:

Find out from your family history or family pediatrician if you have had measles before or been vaccinated against the infection.

  1. If you are unsure of whether you have had measles or not, go to your doctor and get tested for the measles antibody.
  2. If you find out you have not had measles, it is crucial to be vaccinated prior to any attempt to get pregnant.
  3. If you are unable to obtain the measles vaccination, please contact The Foundation for the Children of Iran and we will do our best to provide you with the vaccine.
